What is a non ferrous metal?
Non-ferrous metal is a metal, including alloys, that does not contain iron (ferrite) in appreciable amounts.
We accept the following non-ferrous metals
Scrap copper is commonly used in products such as; copper boilers, heating and cooling pipes, roofs and flashing, cables and wires and copper sheeting.
Brass is a commonly recycling alloy of copper and zinc. We buy plumbing and pipes, taps and cartridge casing.
Aluminium is a common scrap metal that can be found in cans, checker plate, fencing, wheel rims, window frames, vehicle bodies and tubes and rods.
Lead is found in sheets, flashing, lead acid batteries, pipes, roofing, wheel weights and containers.
Tin is used in food cans and some beverage cans, general cans for chemical, paints and dry products and tin plates.
Zinc Metal includes galvanised steel and zinc alloys. Zinc metal is also available in roof sheeting. More than 95% of zinc products used in buildings are collected at the buildings end of life.
We accept most grades of non-ferrous metals. We weight your metal on our independently certified weighbridges for large loads and platform scales for smaller loads.
